Sampling & Development

Proto samples made with in-stock factory fabric (similar GSM to evaluate fit) take approximately 7 to 10 working days. Pre-Production (PP) samples made with fully custom-knitted, custom-dyed fabric, branded woven labels, and custom prints take 15 to 25 working days due to dyeing and rotary screen engraving steps.

Making a single prototype requires a CAD pattern master, individual hand cutting, machine thread re-threading, and individual line setup. Sample fees are typically 2x to 3x the projected bulk FOB cost. In standard apparel contracts, this development fee is fully credited/refunded against the bulk production invoice once the purchase order is placed.

Yes. When sent a physical benchmark garment, textile engineers in Tirupur analyze the fabric under a textile microscope: measuring courses and wales per inch, identifying the yarn count (e.g. 20s compact combed cotton), determining the circular knitting machine gauge, and testing fiber composition.

Order Quantities & MOQs

Industrial soft-flow jet dyeing machines require a minimum volume of water and fabric to circulate without knotting (liquor ratio 1:6 to 1:8). The smallest production dye vat holds 50 kg to 100 kg of fabric, yielding approximately 250 to 500 t-shirts. Running a 10 kg batch inside a large jet machine causes blotchy, uneven dye uptake and exorbitant utility waste.

Smart ways to optimize production volume:
1. Fabric Sharing: Use one 100 kg dyeing vessel of heavyweight cotton fleece to produce 150 hoodies and 150 matching sweatpants in the same Pantone color.
2. Stock Fabric Programs: Utilize the factory's pre-dyed inventory colors (typically black, white, navy, heather grey, off-white) which allows smaller order minimums per style.
3. Graphic Differentiation: Dye 500 units of one black t-shirt base and split them into 2 distinct screen print artworks (250 units each).

Manufacturing Timelines & Freight

For custom knitted and dyed orders, bulk manufacturing takes 45 to 60 calendar days following Pre-Production (PP) sample and lab dip sign-off. If using in-stock factory fabric colors, lead times can compress to 25–35 days.

Cargo departing South Indian container ports (Tuticorin / Chennai) typically reaches:
• Western Europe & UK (Felixstowe / Rotterdam / Hamburg): 20 to 26 days.
• US East Coast (New York / Savannah): 28 to 34 days.
• US West Coast (Los Angeles / Long Beach): 32 to 38 days.
• Australia (Melbourne / Sydney): 16 to 22 days.

Tech Packs & Fit Communication

You can either courier a physical benchmark garment that represents your desired fit to the factory for reverse measurement engineering, or utilize our downloadable tech pack template from our Resources section to fill in key measurements.

Avoid vague feedback like "make it look cooler." Provide numerical adjustments relative to the tech pack: "Increase chest width by +1.5 cm across all sizes; raise back neck drop by 0.5 cm; tighten sleeve cuff rib circumference by 1.0 cm." Photos of the garment on a live fit model with clear measurement annotations are immensely helpful.

Commercial Terms & Payment

Standard international textile payment terms follow established ICC Incoterms and banking security protocols:

Standard Industry Terms: • T/T (Telegraphic Transfer): 30% advance deposit to purchase yarn and initiate knitting/dyeing; remaining 70% balance payable upon completion of AQL 2.5 quality inspection and release of shipping Bill of Lading (B/L) copy.
• L/C (Irrevocable Letter of Credit at Sight): Used for large container volume orders through Tier-1 commercial international banks.
