Corporate Workforce Sizing Ratio Calculator

Avoid running out of Large/XL or sitting on dead XS/3XL stock. Calculate your optimal order distribution curve based on empirical workforce demographics:

Balanced mixed office demographic. Medium and Large dominate with moderate S/XL.
Procurement Safety Rule

Always order a 5% to 8% safety buffer over active headcount. When unexpected staff join in weeks 2-6, ordering 10 supplementary shirts costs 3x more in setup surcharges.

XS S M L XL 2XL 3XL+
20 80 160 140 70 25 5
4.0% 16.0% 32.0% 28.0% 14.0% 5.0% 1.0%
Base Headcount: 500 pcs
Recommended Safety Buffer: +25 pcs (5%)
Total PO Quantity: 525 pcs
Recommended buffer allocated primarily to M & L to absorb new hires and quick replacements.
Section 01

1. Why Retail Specs Fail in Corporate & Institutional Uniforms

A garment engineered for consumer retail is worn perhaps once every two weeks and washed in delicate home detergent at 30°C. Uniform apparel, by contrast, is worn 8 to 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, and submitted to aggressive commercial washing at 60°C.

The Retail Failure Mode

100% fine cotton (30s/1 single jersey) feels soft on the retail hanger, but loses tensile strength after 20 hot washes. It suffers severe collar curl ("bacon collar"), side seam torquing, and noticeable color fading within 90 days.

The CVC 60/40 Solution

Chief Value Cotton (60% combed cotton, 40% high-tenacity polyester) weaves polyester filament into the core while wrapping natural cotton around the exterior. You get cotton breathability against employee skin with polyester dimensional memory.

Pilling Resistance (Martindale)

Uniform fabrics must achieve Martindale Grade 4.5+ after 5,000 friction cycles. An enzyme bio-polishing bath burns away microscopic surface fuzz before fabric compacting, preventing surface pilling under backpack straps and seatbelts.

2. Workwear Fabric Construction Comparison Matrix

Choose your fabric construction based on physical operating environment, climate, and desired corporate aesthetic:

Fabric Construction Fiber Composition GSM Range Durability & Wash Performance Ideal Sectors
Classic Honeycomb Pique 60% Cotton / 40% Poly (CVC) 220 – 240 GSM Martindale Grade 4.5; < 3% shrinkage. Crisp collar hold; excellent breathability. Corporate • Retail • Telecom
Executive Combed Pique 100% Super-combed Cotton 230 – 250 GSM Ultra-soft hand-feel; requires gentler 40°C wash; natural luxury drape. Executive Management • Banking
Twill Collar Interlock 80% Cotton / 20% Poly 240 – 260 GSM Double-knit smooth face front and back; zero opacity/see-through; snag-proof. Healthcare • Clinics • Schools
Moisture-Wicking DryFit 100% Micro-polyester Mesh 160 – 180 GSM Hydrophilic moisture dispersion; zero iron; fast drying. Prone to snagging on rough tools. Field Delivery • Warehouse • Sports
Industrial Heavy French Terry 70% Cotton / 30% Poly 320 – 350 GSM Dense looped unbrushed back; high abrasion resistance on elbows and side panels. Cold Chain • Fleet Drivers • Winter

3. Industrial 60°C Laundering, Shrinkage & Colorfastness

Commercial laundries wash at higher temperatures with chemical sanitizers. Oger Knits builds uniforms to pass stringent international wash tests:

Test Parameter Standard Retail Oger Knits Uniform Spec
Wash Water Temp 30°C / 40°C Cold Delicate 60°C Industrial Hot Wash
Max Shrinkage (Length) < 7.0% – 8.0% < 3.0% (Double Compacted)
Max Shrinkage (Width) < 5.0% < 3.0% (Stenter Stabilized)
Spirality / Torque < 6.0% < 2.5% (Pre-relaxed Yarn)
Pilling (Martindale) Grade 2.5 – 3.0 Grade 4.5+ (Bio-polished)
Zero-Curl Collar & Placket Construction

The collar is the most visible focal point of any corporate uniform. Retail flat-knit collars curl upward at the tips ("winging") after three wash cycles because the yarns lack edge tension.

  • Core Spandex Collar Edge: We knit 3% elastic core yarn into the outer 8 rows of the flat-knit collar rib, providing elastic recovery that forces the tips flat against the collarbone.
  • Fused Interlining Placket: Button plackets are lined with lightweight non-woven fusible stabilizer to prevent buttonhole fraying and wavy placket wrinkling.
  • Melamine 4-Hole Buttons: Industrial mangles apply immense heat and pressure. We use high-impact Melamine buttons cross-stitched with 100% core-spun polyester thread.

4. Unisex Patterning vs Dedicated Women's Contour Cut

Forcing female employees into boxy unisex t-shirts or polos harms team morale and looks unprofessional. Oger Knits offers a coordinated Women's Contour pattern that shares the identical fabric dye lot and chest logo positioning:

Pattern Parameter Standard Unisex Cut Oger Knits Dedicated Women's Cut
Side Seam Profile Straight 90° boxy drop from armhole to hem sweep. Subtle 2.0 cm inward waist curve with gentle hip release flare.
Sleeve Proportion Standard straight bicep, 22 – 24 cm sleeve length. Feminine capped sleeve (16 – 18 cm) with tailored bicep circumference.
Placket & Collar Proportions Wide 3-button placket (14 – 16 cm length); 8.0 cm collar wings. Slender 2-button or 3-button placket (11 – 12 cm); refined 6.5 cm collar wings.
Chest Logo Alignment 18.0 cm down from High Point Shoulder (HPS). Raised to 13.5 cm from HPS to sit cleanly on upper chest above bust curve.

5. Corporate Branding: Tajima Direct Embroidery vs Silicone Heat Badges

Logo application must retain sharpness through repeated washing while preventing skin friction:

Method A
Tajima Multi-Head Direct Embroidery

The time-tested gold standard for left chest company crests and employee department monograms.

  • • Recommended Stitch Count: 5,500 to 11,000 stitches (clean fill, crisp text).
  • • Thread Specification: Madeira Polyneon 40wt chlorine-resistant polyester thread.
  • • Underlay & Backing: Soft-touch heat-sealed tricot backing ("Cloud Cover") fused to the inner chest to eliminate scratchy embroidery backing against bare skin.
  • • Wash Life: Exceeds 100+ commercial wash cycles without fraying.
Method B
High-Density Silicone Heat-Seal Badges

Contemporary 3D matte silicone badge for modern corporate tech, automotive, and sports uniforms.

  • • Aesthetic: Ultra-sharp vector edges with 0.8 mm raised tactile depth.
  • • Interior Feel: Zero interior stitching—100% smooth against the chest.
  • • Application: Pneumatic heat press at 160°C under 4 bar pressure with polyurethane hot-melt backing.
  • • Wash Life: 70+ commercial wash cycles @ 60°C.
Section 06

6. Multi-Year Shade Continuity & Greige Stock Buffer Protocol

When a corporate client hires 200 new employees in Month 8, their new navy polos must match the existing 2,000 polos issued in Month 1. Without strict color management, dye lots drift noticeably.

1. Digital Spectrophotometer Master

We store your brand pantone as a master spectral curve on a Datacolor spectrophotometer. All future dye lots must measure within Delta E < 0.8 under D65 daylight, TL84 office light, and Incandescent A.

2. Greige Fabric Holding Buffer

For annual contracts, Oger Knits holds knitted raw greige fabric in reserve. When top-up batches are called for new hires, lead time drops from 6 weeks down to 12 to 14 working days.

3. Trim & Body Softflow Co-Dyeing

Flat-knit collar ribs and body pique are dyed in the same pressurized softflow vessel in identical liquor ratios to prevent color tone divergence between collar and torso.

7. Individual Employee Kitting & Regional Branch Logistics

Eliminate the chaotic administrative nightmare of sorting thousands of loose shirts on branch office floors:

Packaging Tier Factory Execution Standard HR & Logistics Advantage
Individual Employee Bagging Each employee's complete allocation (e.g. 3 Polos + 1 Warm Hoodie) is sealed in a heavy 40-micron clear polybag with peel-and-stick seal. Prevents garment theft, contamination, and sizing confusion during roll-out.
Variable Data Barcode Labels Every polybag is pre-printed with Employee Name, Employee ID, Department, Branch City, and Garment Sizes. Branch admins simply hand the sealed bag to the employee without opening cartons.
Branch-Consolidated Cartons Cartons are packed strictly by facility location (e.g., "Chicago Office – Box 1 of 4 – Sales Team") with gross weight capped at 14 kg. Zero central warehouse re-packing labor; cartons can be courier drop-shipped directly.
Dual Needle Detector Audit 100% of finished garments pass through calibrated conveyor metal detectors with calibration logs included in shipping manifest. Absolute compliance safety for school children and corporate employees.
